Experiential Education

In your third year at OSU, you'll expand your skills across a broad spectrum of pharmacy practice. You'll learn to translate your scientific knowledge into practical, clinical applications with a focus on managing various health conditions. Additionally, you'll explore the economic and policy aspects of pharmacy that shape the healthcare landscape. Your fourth year is dedicated entirely to professional rotations across Oregon and beyond, where you will practice in community pharmacies, ambulatory care, general medicine, and hospital settings for six weeks at each location. You also have the opportunity to select elective rotations, allowing you to further explore the areas of pharmacy that most interest you.

Your Life at OSU Pharmacy

During your first two years in the Pharm.D. program at OSU, you'll study at our main campus in Corvallis, where you're surrounded by the vibrant life of a major research university. This classic college setting provides you with all the resources you need to thrive academically and socially. In your third year, you'll move to the Oregon Health & Science University campus in Portland, benefiting from our partnership with one of the nation's top academic medical centers in one of America's most livable cities.

Throughout all four years, but especially in your fourth, you'll immerse yourself in experiential education across Oregon and further afield, putting theory into practice. Beyond the classroom, you'll connect with larger communities through professional pharmacy associations, volunteer efforts, outreach activities, and cultural engagements. Participate in civic and alumni groups, explore cultural centers, cheer at Beaver athletics events, and more.
